This in-studio Indigo dye workshop will use several types of vats. We will practice basic shibori plus some moon making.
Wednesday August 3rd, 2022
10 AM – 4 PM including a 30 minute break for a BYO bag lunch. Drinks provided.
Focus will be on arashi, tekumo, nui, and itajime shibori. Sample all styles and focus your practice on your favorite!
Inspired Stitching with Memory Cloth

(This workshop will run twice-Thursday Aug. 4th and Sunday Aug. 7th 2022)
Inspired Stitching with Memory Cloth will be a hand stitching scrap workshop using vintage Japanese and indigo fabrics. You will learn basic boro stitching and sashiko stitching methods to create a beautiful hand stitched piece. All materials and supplies are included. You will be able to choose from 3 possible projects: wearable scarf, wall piece, or pillow cover. You will create the piece but do the finishing at home for the pillow cover and the wall piece.

Come enjoy this one day experience of moon making fun using shibori techniques and indigo.A workshop focusing on moon-making and other indigo shibori fun. A small group of 8 will gather together to make indigo dyed moons as well as other various shibori techniques as related to moon making.

Silk shibori ribbon is easily the biggest part of what I have been doing over the past 15 years. I invented this product as a commercial item in 2006, took it to market in 2007, and created a niche for it by teaching the many ways it could be used. It has been used and sold around the world by many fabulous artists and designers.
