Textile Takaramono Packs
Textile Takaramono Packs
Takaramono means treasured item and that is just what your will find in these packs.
Cloth collected in Japan at various locations- temple sales, small antique shops, & obscure used kimono shops. The fun in finding and rescuing some old cloth keeps me on the hunt.
These latest packs are a great inspiration.
There are a dozen indigo based collections and four brown based collections.
Also included is a simple free pattern and instructions for small zakka fish. The fish represents the Japanese ayu fish. Ayu is also called a sweetfish that is said to have a watermelon like aroma (i’ve never noticed this myself). It is however, only fished in pristine rivers and only fished for a short season. Restaurants along rivers will buy the ayu from the local fishermen outside these rivers and freshly grilled over charcoal. Diners can watch the fishermen from the riverside restaurant windows. I experienced this a few years ago in Annaka, Japan.
